## Purpose

This index is the canonical map of VibeCoder documentation. Every doc in the
vibecoder-standalone repository (and a small set of sandbox-level auxiliary
docs) appears here in one of the four categories below. If a doc is not in
this index, it has been moved to **Archive**.

Read the **Canonical** section first. Anything in **Superseded**, **Stale**, or
**Archive** is retained for history but is not the source of truth.

### Constitutional artefacts (FvW §01.9)

These are the 8 constitutional artefacts per FvW §01.9. VibeCoder uses a
**14-dir consolidated profile** (5 substantive + 6 consolidated supplementary
+ 3 intentional stubs) per `app-recipe/manifest.json`'s `files` block. The
single source of truth is `app-recipe/manifest.json`.

**Recommendation on `/workspace/pact/`:** this directory lives at sandbox level
(`/workspace/pact/`, NOT in any git repo). Content is byte-identical to
`docs/pact-docket/` (MD5-verified 2026-09-14). The sandbox copy is the
**source** for Sprint 1 D2's snapshot — but the canonical committed copy is
`docs/pact-docket/`. **Recommend deletion** of `/workspace/pact/` since it
serves no purpose distinct from `docs/pact-docket/`, but **NOT executed**
because the dispatch rule says "Do NOT delete any doc. Mark superseded /
archive only." Operator sign-off required to remove the sandbox copy.

be updated next time they are touched (per §00.12.11 forward-only).

These files are **sandbox execution logs**, not vibecoder-standalone docs.
They are listed here for completeness only. Do not link them from
vibecoder-standalone code or docs.

## Decisions made by this consolidation

1. **`/workspace/pact/` vs `docs/pact-docket/`**: `docs/pact-docket/` is canonical (committed,
   in-repo, regenerated by `tools/check-drift.cjs`). The sandbox `/workspace/pact/` is
   byte-identical to `docs/pact-docket/` and serves no distinct purpose — recommended for
   deletion pending operator sign-off.

2. **Repository docs vs sandbox logs**: The two `/workspace/{ID9_,ID10_,PATCH-,R231-,TIMELINE-}*.md`
   directories are sandbox execution logs from past dispatches (Aug 30 – Sep 12). They
   are NOT vibecoder-standalone docs. They are listed in **Archive** here for completeness
   but should not be moved into the repo.

3. **`/workspace/.audits-2026-09-14/`** (today's 7-report audit series) is **CURRENT** —
   these are the source of truth for the FvW Phase 1-4 audit (b2998, b2999, b3001, b3007,
   b3013, b3014, b3015). It lives at sandbox level because it is a daily reporting artifact,
   not a permanent repo doc.

4. **All `cms-widgets/*/recipe-book/recipe.md`** (~25 files) are generated by the bridge
   build pipeline. They are not hand-edited and need not be reviewed.

5. **App-pact decisions directory** (12 files) is **operational**, not historical — each
   file is a record of a state transition. Do not archive them.

## Open recommendations for operator

- [ ] **Delete `/workspace/pact/`** — byte-identical to `docs/pact-docket/`, sandbox-only,
       no commit trail. Saves 5.4 KB and one duplicate source-of-truth.
- [ ] **Refresh `cascade-repair-integration.md`** — its cascade status pre-dates Sprint 3 A/B/C.
- [ ] **Refresh `AUDIT-v8.4.0.md`** — version is pre-v8.6.0, doctrine has moved on.
       Better: rename to `docs/audits/2026-09-07-pre-v8.6.0-audit.md` and update timestamp.
- [ ] **Move `/workspace/.audits-2026-09-14/`** to `/workspace/vibecoder-standalone/docs/audits/2026-09-14-fvw-phase/`
       once the FvW audit programme closes.
